THE AGRARIAN LAW OF GAIUS SEMPRONIUS GRACCHUS IN NARRATIVE AND EPIGRAPHIC EVIDENCE

Abstract

This article considers the ancient evidence for agrarian law of Gaius Sempronius Gracchus. On the basis of re-examination of our literary and epigraphic sources author criticizes the view that this law was identical to the lex Sempronia agraria of 133 bC. he tries to define the categories of public land, which was distributed among Roman citizens during the agrarian reform of 123–122 bC.
